Elevate Others Around You The effect of our current Covid-19 situation has had an impact on everyone. Strong people handle it well but there are doubtless others who could use a hand. That hand should be yours, and here’s why. Helping Hands Giving others a hand in love helps everyone involved: you, their circle, and the community at large. The positive impact created by helping someone in need creates ripples of uplifting actions by everyone who sees and feels it, prompting them to get involved too. It’s a full circle of impact that comes back to you and feeds your soul. It’s a strategy of well-being writ large. Pretty amazing, right? So how can you begin your loving strategy for community impact? 1. Use Your Skills to Benefit Others If you’re a musician, give free online concerts for a retirement community or free Zoom lessons to a restless young person and redirect their energy in a positive way. If you’re a math genius, make a call to and help a small start-up business on your block with their accounting tasks. Your natural abilities are priceless to someone and you’ll see that quickly. 2. Seek Out Needs Around You If your elderly neighbor is house bound offer to run errands or offer to cook and drop-off some homemade meals for them. If you’re an animal lover, offer to volunteer at the local rescue feeding or walking dogs. And there is almost always a digital solution to doing anything that you really want to do to help others while staying safe and Covid free from a phone, laptop, desktop, or other device. 3. Donate Real Sweat No accomplishment feels better than a hard one, especially if it’s one no one else dares to take on. Slide on a mask and start to help by designing and creating a community garden with your friends in an abandoned area of town. Repair and paint homes for the elderly while social distancing. Beautify your community. If costs are involved start a GoFundMe to finance it. Create your own powerful circle of impact. Recruit friends and family to aid you. You’ll energize and bless yourself in the process!
