We All Did It, As We Do Every Year. We toasted with champagne (or bubbly apple juice) on New Year’s Eve and made resolutions for the year. What did you resolve to accomplish? If it was for your betterment I applaud you. Yas sister! Seriously though, whether you enrolled for those college courses left unfinished in your 20’s or signed up for saxophone lessons because you dig it, it’s wonderful! Go forth and broaden your impact with your new knowledge. What did I resolve? I resolved to challenge you; and here it is: Gift yourself strength. Give your body the solid foundation it needs to live a long, amazing life. The stronger you are from within the longer you live and the more you can contribute to the world. The world needs more of your voice and talents. Did you know that? There are three ways to go about this and each one imminently doable. Check this out: 1) For Weight Loss or Endurance Now is the time to get in the best shape of your life. To lose weight and gain incredible confidence, try an aerobic activity that you enjoy. This is key! If you hate running on the “dreadmill” try a samba class or kickboxing. Choose something that feels exciting to you. You’ll stick with it if you have fun. For the endurance you need to keep up with the kids and join in their play (you don’t want to miss a second of their awesomeness,) try making your aerobic activity something you can all do together like hide and seek in the park or biking together on a nature trail. 2) Build Muscle for Strength As women get older some struggle with simple tasks for lack of strength. Stay independent and strong by building muscle tissue now! If you don’t like gyms get some small weights or a kettle bell to use at home and follow along with a YouTube workout. Start with smaller weights and work your way up to the heavier ones. Include your kids by embracing them as you do squat exercises or lunges. They’ll love it! 3) Motion that Renews Mind, Flexibility and Creativity Reflective moments are wonderful ways to reduce stress and increase creativity. Combine these with a workout that increases balance, control and flexibility. Try simple yoga positions and work your way into the more complex poses. Tai Chi is excellent for balance and stress reduction. So, are you ready to begin 2020 and beyond as the strong woman who can endure and impact the world for decades to come? Me too, let’s start today! Comments are closed.
